Writing a story becomes a lot easier when you have some kind of structure or framework that help’s you to keep on track. There are tons of different way’s to structure a story.

Today we look at 3 of the most popular Frameworks.

The 3-Act Framework

Extremely basic framework, but highly efficient.

Act 1 - The Setup

The setup is the first act. You introduce:

• The Setting
• Characters
• Main Conflict

That sets the tone, mood, and direction of the story.

Act 2 - The Confrontation

The second act is where the protagonist faces the main challenges and obstacles.

• Encounters roadblocks
• Suffers setbacks
• Faces increasing stakes

This is the longest act, and the tension and suspense usually build up until a major climax.

Act 3 - The Resolution
